Mitchell's First Illness

A healthy Mitchell blowing spit bubbles!

Mitchell was diagnosed with H1N1 and pneumonia. What a horrible sickness for such a little guy! He got a fever while we were at Pappy's visiting the pumpkin patch (probably why he was so unhappy), and was diagnosed on the following day. He was put on Tamiflu, but his fever was still really high, so I decided to take him back. Just felt like they were missing something, especially because his pulse O2 levels were at 91. The doctor ordered a chest x-ray, so we went to the Children's Hospital after hours clinic and he got a chest x-ray. They kept us for about four hours while Asa and Aiden were waiting outside. Other children were not allowed in the back room and we did not want Aiden hanging out in the ER waiting room. They went to visit Asa's work (another site close to the hospital) while Mitchell was getting treated. He was still vomiting the next day, so we had to go back to the doctor's office to get shots of the antibiotic. By Friday, Mitchell's fever was down to normal and thankfully no one else got sick. Thanks for all the prayers! It was a rough week (especially since we had snow that week too) but Mitchell is healthy and that is all that matters.
