Alcova

We had a great vacation at Alcova! Nicole and Dom were able to come for the weekend and Annie, Ryan, and Madeline came out to the lake for a day with Grandma Bob, Tammy, Aubrey, and Joey. Aiden had his first smores and roasted (well, burnt) his first marshmellow. We fed the deer and saw lots of fawns with their spots. The weather was hit and miss with lots of sunshine and lots of rain. Aiden and Mitchell had their first boat ride and both feel asleep when we were moving. Asa also took Aiden out on the jetski and he had a blast!

Mitchell Smiles!

A first smile...

It just melts your heart! Mitchell's first smile was when he was 7 weeks old and of course I did not have a camera ready. And despite the fact that I bought a camera to catch those moments, it was still difficult to catch the smiles just right. Here are a few pictures that I have managed to catch of the little man smiling! He is starting to coo as well and is just so happy and full of joy!

Weekend Family Fun!

This is the first weekend since Mitchell was born that we have not had visitors and Asa was not at drill, so we spent as much time as possible having family fun. Aiden wanted to be with his daddy and Mitchell as much as possible. We have multiple new additions to our house. First, Aiden went and got some fish to put into his new fish tank that his Pappy brought to the house. We got some zebra danios and neon tetras. I thought they were all going to die because Aiden wanted to hold the bag on the way home and he fell asleep on the drive home and dropped the fish on the ground. They spent the rest of the drive rolling around in the back seat of the car, but they are all still alive! Today we brought home a new bunny rabbit. She is a holland lop and we named her Ginger. Aiden wanted to name her bunny because she is a rabbit. He is a sharp one! Asa and Aiden decided to end the weekend taking a dip in Aiden's kiddy pool. They were both shivering when they got out, but had some great moments. Mitchell slept though most of the excitement.

Mitchell at 6 weeks

Mitchell is becoming such a big boy already. I cannot believe 6 weeks have already gone by. He loves to be swaddled and placed in his swing. He gave his first smiles this week and they just melt your heart! His neck is really strong and he is able to hold it steady at a 45d angle for long stretches. His milestones will just keep coming!

Potty Time!

Aiden has started potty training! His first day of potty training went pretty well and he only had two accidents. The rest of the day he went in the potty. However, by the end of the day he refused to go, so he ended up in a diaper. He did not take a nap, so I am blaming this on his meltdown. We try again tomorrow! Hopefully he starts to get the hang of it. We bought more big boy underwear for him yesterday, so we are ready to keep going. I can't believe what a big boy he is! And I am sure he will not be happy with me when he grows up and sees I posted these pictures! LOL

Brotherly Love

Aiden just loves his little brother. He is just so sweet and gentle with him. Occationally we need to remind Aiden not to smother his brother with kisses. Every morning Aiden likes to spend a little time holding his brother. He also spends time each day showing Mitchell his toys. He shares his cars with Mitchell and will gently place the cars in his hands by opening his fingers. Since cars are Aiden's favorite toy, it shows how much he just loves his brother.

5 weeks!

It is hard to believe that Mitchell is already 5 weeks old! He is growing by leaps and bounds, I can't wait until his 2 month appointment to get an official height and weight check. He is doing really well, sleeps for much of the day but he is a charmer when he is awake. He is already starting to coo and the occational little smile :) He likes to be held so he can look right in your face and he will stare into your eyes for long periods of time. It makes you melt!
